How often is la Vie de la Mort updated? We update the comic weekly. Or at least, we try to. We are both often quite busy with our studies and life stuff, so can't always produce pages as often as we would like. So, gentle reader, be patient with us, and we'll all get there in the end. Or something.
Where did the idea for la Vie de la Mort come from? The comic is based on an unpublished short story written by Robert a few years ago. However, he was ultimately unsatisfied with it, and realized a change of medium could be just the thing. After approaching Luke with the idea, la Vie de la Mort was born. At some stage we may publish the short story on the site, but not until any potential spoilers it contains have been negated. Also, it's pretty rubbish.
What is involved in creating an average page of la Vie de la Mort? It starts with a script, written by Robert, much like that used for plays, film or television. It contains a detailed panel-by-panel breakdown of backgrounds, characters and dialog, as well as general instructions about how the panels should appear on the page. Robert then emails this script to Luke, who sketches out the panels. The guys then discuss these, and sometimes changes are made based on this discussion. Then, through a process of drawing, scanning, more drawing on an electronic tablet, and touching up, Luke completes the artwork. Since this is the most time-consuming part of the whole process, most of the time the panels are emailed back to Robert, who edits them together into a page, adding borders, text, speech balloons and the like. The page is then uploaded into the ComicGenesis processing device, where it rattles around for a while before appearing on our front page.
You guys suck. How do I complain? We welcome all comments in our Shoutbox on the front page. Alternately, you can add a comment to any of our blog posts (also on the front page).
You guys are great. I mean, really great, like chocolate-chip-ice-cream great. Where can I send money and praise? Nobody has asked this question yet. We wish someone would. To ask this question, follow the instructions above about 'complaining', except, be nice. Additionally, you could email Robert.
